TMnet Internet Service Disruption

Greetings,

Telekom Malaysia Berhad (TM) wishes to announce that there has been a disruption of its Internet services due to circuit faults on the Asia Pacific Cable Network 2 (APCN2) Segment 1 between Kuantan and Katong, Singapore.

Due to the disruption, customers using Internet services may experience slow browsing while accessing websites hosted in the U.S. and Hong Kong.

In addition, customers using other IP services such as Virtual Private Network (VPN) and other critical business applications linked to the U.S. and Hong Kong may also experience some service degradation.

To alleviate the problem, some of the links have been rerouted to alternate routes to ease the congestion.

Restoration works on the affected cables are already in progress. However, in the restoration process, traffic to Northern America and Hong Kong may experience degradation while traffic to other countries is not affected. TM expects complete recovery of its services by 5 August 2009. TM will make further announcements on the progress of the restoration works.

TM wishes to assure its customers that it is undertaking all necessary measures to restore communications services for its customers as soon as possible.

This is the latest news from Streamyx. This disruption might or might not affect some of the blazingfiles user.

A delay in fixing HTTP Download

Greetings,

Firstly, we would like to apologize for the delay in fixing HTTP download.

We are trying our best to fix it up but sadly none of them worked. We are still trying, we have our last solution, to migrate from apache to lighttpd.

Well guys, please use FTP to download. FTP download isn’t slow, it will be slow if you guys using SINGLE CONNECTION or using FTP MANAGER to download. FTP MANAGER such as smartFTP, FlashFXP, CuteFTP, FileZillaFTP and others are using SINGLE CONNECTION to downloads file.

For example, how to download from FTP like downloading from HTTP..

http://www.blazingfiles.info/tutorials/
Please scroll down and look for this section : Downloading Tutorial(FlashGet)

or

You could use your FTP Manager software to get the link, Right Click the file and copy url/link and then paste in your download manager.

or

You can use ftp://blazingfiles.com in your browser address and then login with your username and password, then browse to the file, and then right click and download with download manager. Please don’t use browser download as it also uses single connection.

Once again, sorry for any inconvenience caused.

How to Pick The Fastest Torrents

The fastest torrents will be those where downloaders (leechers) can tap into the most upload capacity. If you have a swarm (seeders and leechers) with a hundred people in total it will be faster when there are relatively more seeders. Why? Very simply it’s because seeders don’t download while their upload capacity is available for the leechers.

Many people understand these basics. A torrent with 30 seeders and 70 leechers (30% seeders) will go faster than one with 10 seeders and 90 leechers (10% seeders). However, it get confusing when you compare swarms of different sizes. Read More …
